mirror mirror on the wall: who's the biggest stud muffin of them all?

Mar. 23rd, 2006 | 03:50 pm

I would not be surprised if every straight man were envious of the pillsbury dough boy... he may seem innocent enough, but he's a real stud "muffin" if you ask me. I mean, he must have had sex with most women on this planet. (how else would you explain yeast infections?)...

"Pull me into your story"

Feb. 23rd, 2006 | 07:30 pm

Pull me into your story
Show me who you are

Let me get lost in you
Let me in

Pull me into your story
That I may forget my own

Let me see what you see
That I may see you

Pull me into your story
Past my fears into yours

Let me be one with you
Leaving myself behind

Pull me into your story
That I may follow the plot

Let me have this adventure with you
That I forget who I am

Pull me into your story
I’ll not hold back

Let me be one with you
Let me risk losing myself

Pull me into your story
That I may leave my own

Let me give you this gift
Let me show you this love

Pull me into your story
Let me live in the vision

Let me see your life
That I may return to my own anew

--I wrote this as I thought of my friend, Natalie
Pull me into your story, Natalie! Let me see who you are
Pull me into your story... that i may experience as you do..

Earthquakes and Birthquakes

Feb. 21st, 2006 | 01:30 pm

Here is an amazing parallel between the geographical earth and our physical bodies.

We know that earthquakes occur due to the shifting of plates (tectonic). They move to achieve a new level of equilibrium and stability.

Amazingly, during the birth process, the skull plates of the baby are moved around during the passage through the birth canal, much like the shift of tectonic plates. The skull gets compressed and even then it couldn't go through the birth canal in its original shape. So it has to be compressed and during the process of this compression, the skull plates that originally fit to make a round shape, have to temporarily move apart and warp the shape in order to get through the vaginal canal.

It's amazing this parallel... to think of the human skull as "plates" much like the earth's plates...

resilience

Feb. 20th, 2006 | 02:29 pm

A friend of mine, Richard, was talking to me about how many people get force-fed religion...

And I was thinking... the literal act of force-feeding is when a person shoves food down your throat and renders you helpless to succumb... BUT that person may have control over your exterior body, but your internal processes are your own. What happens when food goes into your digestive system? The body takes WHAT IT NEEDS and shits out the rest. No one can force the body to incorporate something just because they've ingested it.

So not only has the oppressor left you untouched, but as a benefit, you may have even gotten some things that were useful or nutritive, no matter how minimal, which the body automatically absorbed into itself... the body knows to shit out what it doesn't need...

Applied to religion, we can rest assured that our minds have the same intelligence. It will know to take in the good, and shit out the rest. So force-feeding is an oppression only on a superficial level. It can't penetrate all the way in. Oppression may have control over the exterior, but your interior is your own... this is resilience.

Diaspora –

diaspora A dispersion of an originally homogeneous entity, such as a language or culture: “the diaspora of English into several mutually incomprehensible languages” (Randolph Quirk).

Historically, I've come to know the term used in the "Jewish Diaspora." They were scattered... Wherever they settled, they had to move and so there are pockets of Jews everywhere.

As a metaphor, I like two visions of diaspora -

1. a tree whose seeds are scattered within a large radius - from this many little trees come from the parent tree

2. explosion - if your body explodes, there are bits and pieces everywhere. So the Jewish community was exploded...

Example:
the diaspora of Freudian thought... Freudian theory started out localized and then spread to the world..

Can you have the diaspora of an illness? like the Black Plague?... hmm..........

synchronicity with Anand

Feb. 19th, 2006 | 12:06 am

If you remember from my last dream entry about being wrongly accused of murder, there was a part with my brother in it.

"Thirdly, Anand in real life is not someone for whom I ever make a difference. he sees me as weak... and needy and that he has to save me... but in the dream, I made a difference for him... I saved his toys... and what is most significant is that he WANTED me to... he trusted me to."

And guess what? Today (as in, just now), he called me and asked me for a favor!!! he never does that? wow, synchronicities and dreams seem to be having a quick turnaround in terms of materializing in real life these days....

strange happenings...

Feb. 18th, 2006 | 01:23 am

What a synchronicity! Over the past week, I've been thinking about going to Ireland this summer for six weeks. I was a little afraid that I would be stuck seeing only the major tourist sites and the big cities, which is not what I want. I want to be in rural areas and really seep in the non-commercial culture. I wasn't majorly thinking about this, but it was an anxiety in the back of my mind (follow the corpus callosum, past the substantia nigra and take a left and stop short of the occipital lobe).

So last night I go into Miller's and I met Lori there. She starting telling me all about Mindy's experiences in Ireland... of the magic and the fairy groves... of the local experiences. What a f****** synchronicity!! Now not only do I have a guide, but one from our program whom I've known a long time.

How does it happen that questions about something so specific get answered in such short notice?
